I've known Jon-Erik since 1994. He was 1st Trumpet with Jim Lawyer's Bluebird Socity Orchestra, which was a great band - all soloists, who could do great improvisations. John-Eric plays solo gigs and sometimes with Vince Giornano and the Nighthawks - a real society orchestra who all wear tuxedos, doncha know.

Fantastic! And I loved the fact that the trumpet player got his ale in the middle of the clarinetist's solo. It makes me want to put my whisky aside and go and get some Guinness, ha. Great job, fellows!

NICE IS ALWAYS NICE ...if one can affrord it .. the GEORGE BARNES entry on Discogs in 24 is still highly deficient, befuddled and noncomprehensive. Huge holes + ignoring the hundreds of sessions he participated in ALL fields of the various genres of popular music, not just jazz swing-based small gr jazz. I own 25 lps having him as 1 or 2 of the headliners + few that he is mentioned as 1 but posted as a collective or a theme-based address, such as the 1956 or so BE THERE AT FIVE on Merc. It has a quintet w some other mid-famed players, Jack Lesberg, Hank D Amico, but it is not credited to Anybody. Instead it is aimed @ the flirty-dirty happy hour, ezy-pickins (pun intended) office worker clientele w a classy-looking woman a drink in her hand leaning slightly backwards on barroom stool table, w lips Very Reddish & Inviting. . . There you go, doesnt show up on Yt search, an okay, no prob jazz album, w an odd 50s double entedre intention, 33 pre-sexual revolutions is the speed - howevvuhh. 2) Also highly superficial discography on allmusic.com ! And 3) Goldmine s Price Guide To Collectible JAZZ albums 1949-69 by Neal Umphread (1994 edition) does NOT EVEN CARRY A George Barnes ENTRY !!! Despite several of his going @ $100 cat such as COUNTRY JAZZ -Colortone, his debut lp. Nuff said, I paid my VG ++ copy of the said BE THERE lp $88 in 1994 bucks. = A lot, but I won it, and not from Leon Leavitt nor the Moles of London ... 🇫🇮

Thank you for unearthing this! I love the video dissolve effect. High-tech for 1975. They were so infatuated with it that they left it on for entire solos. And how useful! You can see the soloist and the person comping for him at the same time! It’s all like a hazy blurry dream.
